| There are a number of Sailing Clubs at Farmoor, all of which are affilliated to the Oxford Sailing Club.
OSC is a members club and runs dinghy racing for members on Sundays and Wednesday evenings during the summer, as well as organising occasional "Open Meetings". The club also caters for windsurfers, with racing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the summer. Information can be obtained from the club office which is normally manned Mon-Thurs Mornings and Friday afternoons Tel 01865 863201.
The Sailing Club runs the Oxford Sailing Centre which as an RYA Training Centre provides practical courses for adults Contact Richard Beardsley on 01865 863201. Richard also organises Youth Race Training and Team 15 Windsurfing. Youth Sailing is catered for primarily by Oxford Youth Sailing Centre which provides learn to sail courses at weekends during the summer and in school holidays. They also support Young people who want to improve their sailing and gain instructing qualifications. Call 01865 865551 to speak to them. School and Youth groups are catered for by the Oxford and District School Sailing Association, which is supported by Oxfordshire County Council. The Warden is George Barker and he can be contacted on 01865 865551. Sailing for the disabled is organised by Oxford Sailability who meet on Tuesday Evenings during the summer. Both Oxford University & Oxford Brookes University have sailing clubs based at Farmoor and if you are a student it is worth enquiring about their facilities. Various service organisatins also run facilities at Farmoor, RAF, Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue are some of the corporate members. | |||
